STEP Program at Westport Day School
The STEP program at WDS is designed specifically for public school districts. It is designed to support students who are struggling with school attendance and engagement, displaying school and academic avoidance behaviors so significant that they impact activities of daily living, academic functioning, and relationships with family and friends.
The goal of the STEP Program is to provide gradual entry into WDS as a full-time, engaged, and active student. The approach is highly individualized and supportive, using collaborative PPT decisions that guide timelines, support needed, curriculum, and collaboration with the student’s treatment team.
