Inside Our Classrooms
Classrooms at Westport Day School feel more like welcoming studios than traditional school spaces. They’re bright and full of natural light, with colorful touches, plants, and student artwork that make the rooms feel alive and personal.
Instead of crowded desks in rows, the layout is flexible and open, which fits the school’s very small class sizes. With 2-8 students in each room, it’s easier for everyone to feel seen, heard, and comfortable jumping into discussions or asking for help.
Just as important is the overall vibe—calm, supportive, and low-pressure. The classrooms are designed to reduce stress, which helps students focus and feel more at ease throughout the day.
Learning isn’t just about textbooks either; there’s a mix of hands-on activities, creative projects, and technology that keeps things interesting and engaging.Ā
Altogether, these spaces are built to support both learning and well-being, making school feel less overwhelming and a lot more approachable.
